Residents of Western New York who have already gone solar may take for granted the fact that our region has some of the best incentives for residential solar installations in the country. Western New Yorkers who are unfamiliar with solar energy may wonder as to why that is.
One of the main reasons that solar companies can offer these incentives is because of a government program called NYSERDA. With NYSERDA—and their NY-Sun program specifically—installers are able to pass along additional solar incentives to customers in New York that are not available in other states. However, it is important to note that not every solar company is created equal. As a homeowner, in order to obtain these incentives in New York State (which ultimately make your solar system more affordable), you must go through a NYSERDA-certified installer.

Any NYSERDA partner will be subject to both random and periodical photo and on-site inspections throughout the year.

NYSERDA rebates have a significant effect on the overall cost of a system, and therefore should be taken into consideration before a contract is signed.
